How To Find The Right Sheep For Sale
Look below and you will see drop-down menus that let you quickly search by Animal, Type - Class, and State. These are handy tools, but scroll to the top of this page and you will find a wealth of faceted search features that help you find the right sheep for sale via private treaty or auction.
Faceted search features let you limit your search for sheep based on Type - Class, Show Stock, Average Weight, Crossbred / Purebred, Head Count, Breed, Registered, State, Scrapie, Speckle, Price Per Head, Registry Name, Fertility, and Transaction Type.
Find Specific Sheep Varieties
Click Type - Class, for example, and you can narrow the results to include any combination of commercial market, commercial dairy, commercial wool, or show sheep. You can refine the results even further to specify ewe or ram lambs; aged, bred, or range ewes; rams; wethers; or other criteria.
You can also filter sheep by breed. Under Applied Filters toward the top left of this page, click Breed. You can then select any combination of breeds, such as American Blackbelly, Australian White, Awassi, Barbados Blackbelly, Cheviot, Dorper, Dorset, East Friesian, Gotland, Hampshire, Katahdin, Rambouillet, Royal White, Soay, Suffolk, Wensleydale, and White Suffolk, among others.
Other criteria for limiting searches includes:
- Show Stock
- Crossbred / Purebred / Full Blood
- Registered
- State – to find sheep for sale near you
- Scrapie
- Speckle
- Registry Name – if applicable, such as American Dorper Sheep Breeders Society, American Hampshire Sheep Association, or United Suffolk Sheep Association
- Fertility status – Not Tested or Tested Fertile
- Transaction Type – For Sale, For Lease, or Auction Listings (that is, sheep that are cross-listed on AuctionTime.com)
Weight, Head Count & Price
In order to find sheep for private treaty sale or auction that fall within a specific range for weight, head count, or price, simply expand any of those items under Applied Filters, enter the desired ranges, and click the Search button.
Remember, you aren’t limited to using one search feature at a time. You can use any combination of search filters to find the precise sheep you want to buy.
