TWO GOOD SETS OF BRED HEIFERS — WHARTON, TEXAS
Guys, I’ve got two really nice groups of bred heifers here in Wharton.
40 F1 Brangus heifers — and the quality on these girls is GOOD. Big-bodied, very gentle cattle. Most are bred to a stout Horned Hereford bull, and the balance are bred to Angus. A few will start calving this fall.
Then I’ve got 35 Angus heifers, all off ONE ranch. These girls were AI’d April 25th & 26th to Duff’s Equity, then cleaned up with the same bull.
Duff’s Equity came from Kirk Duff — 58 lb. birth weight and 738 lb. weaning weight. That’s the kind of combination I like: get them here easy, then mash down on the scales at weaning.
These Angus girls are acclimated to the South. They’ve been down here and handle our heat and country just fine. The Angus heifers will calve in February.
Two good groups. 75 bred heifers total. F1 Brangus or straight Angus — take your pick.
