These girls have a lot going for them—plenty of milk, big pelvic area, longevity, and the ability to raise a big calf year after year. We have a couple at the house that I bet are 15–16 years old, and they still raise giant calves.
These girls ought to make phenomenal embryo recipient cows. And here’s what I really like about this cross: if you put an embryo in one and she doesn’t settle, you still have options. Turn your cleanup bull in with her and you can still end up with a really good calf.
