Description
Rochester, Minnesota – 70 Black Angus Broken Mouth Bred Cows weighing approximately 1,300 lbs, calving April 10–June 10, shipping September 15–20.
This offering features 70 broken mouth bred cows from a practical commercial cow herd that was originally built from younger bred cows purchased out of South Dakota and developed through years of proven production. These are honest, functional females that have consistently raised calves and remained productive under commercial ranch conditions. For buyers looking for value, this is an opportunity to purchase experienced cows that still have production left in them.
The herd is primarily Black Angus and Black Baldie with approximately 10–15% red-hided influence. They are bred by natural service to two- and three-year-old Black Angus bulls along with yearling Charolais bulls, resulting in a calf crop expected to be approximately 50% black hided and 50% Charolais influenced. The combination offers added growth and hybrid vigor while maintaining strong maternal genetics.
These cows have been sorted by age into a uniform load of broken mouth females. The seller expects approximately one-third of the cows to have one productive calf remaining, while roughly two-thirds should have two or more productive calf crops ahead of them. They are easy-keeping, good-bodied cows with sound structure, quiet dispositions, and the kind that know how to raise a calf with very little extra input.
The cows are currently running on grass with calves at side and will be preg checked, mouthed, and calves removed prior to shipment. They are carrying good flesh after a strong grazing season and will sell in sound working condition, ready to go to work for their next owner.
For producers looking to add experienced cows at an attractive price point, this is a practical, honest set that offers excellent value and immediate production.
