These Angus heifers originated in the renowned ranch country around Ogallala, Nebraska, where practical, functional cattle are developed to thrive on grass. They’re big, broody-made females with the depth, capacity, and maternal strength to develop into outstanding cows that will stay in the herd for years.
Every heifer was artificially inseminated on March 15 to Boyd Concrete 3425, one of the Angus breed’s proven calving-ease sires. Concrete is known for producing light birth weight calves without sacrificing growth, muscle, or maternal quality.
Following the AI breeding, the heifers were exposed to Angus bulls for two estrous cycles. They were then turned in with Mini Hereford bulls for the final month as insurance. Based on the breeding schedule, the seller expects the vast majority—if not all—of these heifers to be carrying Angus-sired calves.
