THE GOOD STUFF:
These are the kind of cows I enjoy finding.
They're productive Angus females with the body, disposition, and maternal ability to fit a variety of programs. Whether your goal is raising quality feeder calves, developing replacement females, or building a set of recipient cows, these ladies offer a lot of flexibility.
One thing I especially like is the number of breeding options available. A Simmental or Charolais bull could add growth and performance. A Brangus, Beefmaster, Brahman, Hereford, or Angus bull could take them in a different direction and help build a strong cow herd for years to come.
On a personal note, I've always been a big fan of a Maine-Anjou bull on Angus cows like these. I've also always liked the Braunvieh-Angus cross. Those matings have a reputation for adding growth, muscle, maternal value, and longevity.
If you're looking for recipient cows, these deserve a look as well. Calve them out this fall and put them to work in your embryo program.
As you can probably tell, I really like these cattle.
