This rare bull combines the Z-cow maternal line with Kobai 73. His pedigree doubles down on Big Al, with both the dam and sire being direct offspring. The Z-cow, the only Rueshaw daughter of Akiko, has proven to be a crucial outcross maternal line in the breed. The Kobai 73 maternal line had nearly disappeared from the breed until some embryos were discovered in storage. Phoenix is one of the offspring created from this find and has been heavily utilized in the Legendary program.
